Order Materials, Exam Registration and Testing Options

Please note, the following information has been complied from The Institutes site. All information is subject to change and students and carriers should contact Customer Success with any specific questions.

 

Ordering Materials:

Contact your HR or training department for your company’s specific ordering process. To order materials through your online account, click here. Click ‘LEARN MORE’ under the appropriate designation, scroll down to find your course, and select your anticipated exam window under ‘BUY MATERIALS.’ This is an important step to ensure you are studying the correct edition for your future exam. New students can click here to sign up for an online account with The Institutes. This will create a Student ID (found in the Personal Information section of the Progress Tracker).

Online materials have an expiration date of 1 year after you submit your order. You should also be aware that course materials are occasionally updated to include new and improved information. If materials change or expire before you take your exam, you will need to purchase materials again. The Exam Registration Book, which is updated for each exam window, will list any courses with pending changes to materials. If you think you'll need to sign-up for a much later exam window, reach out to the Customer Success team in advance so that you can verify that no changes are planned for the remainder of the year.

Once purchased, sign into The Institutes site, click your name in the upper right-hand corner and select ‘My Courses.’ This page will list your registered courses and all learning modules (reading materials, videos, and practice quizzes are bundled together by section). You can also click ‘My Account’ and ‘My Course,’ ‘Progress Tracker,’ and ‘Exams/Grades’ will be under ‘Shortcuts’ in the left hand menu.

 

Exam Registration and Testing Options:

Contact your HR or training department for your company’s specific exam registration process. To register for an exam through your online account, click here. Click ‘LEARN MORE’ under the appropriate designation, scroll down to find your course, and select your anticipated exam window under ‘BUY EXAM.’ Select one of the three testing options:

1. Virtual – Click here to learn more, including a virtual exam demonstration.

Once you have signed up for this option, you can access your exam under ‘My Courses’ when the testing window opens. You must complete your exam by 11:59 pm ET on the final day of the window. Please note, if you do not complete the exam by the deadline, the exam will be removed from your account and you will need to register and pay for another exam registration.

If you require CE credit, you will need to personally contact Customer Success at 800-644-2101 to register for your exam. CE credits will not be reported without current license information on file prior to sitting for an exam. The Customer Success team has up-to-date details on CE availability based on each state’s proctor requirements.

Contact Customer Success before the last business day of the exam window if you need to make any changes to a virtual exam registration. Note, if you have signed up for an in-person exam at a Prometric center, you need to contact Customer Success at least 3 business days before your in-person exam date.

2. On-site – This option is only available if your company is an approved, on-site testing center. Click here to find local, approved testing centers.

You can sign up for in-person testing at a local Prometric center. Available openings will vary by date and location. Use the Prometric Program Selection site to schedule your exam. Note, courses will be listed under the ‘AICPCU (The Institutes)’ Academic Program and you will need to enter your Candidate ID and your name as it appears on The Institutes site. 

The day after making an appointment, visit the Prometric website to verify and print a copy of your appointment information to take to the test center.

Contact Customer Success at least 3 business days before an in-person exam date if you need to make any changes to an in-person exam registration.

You can save up to $80 if you sign up for an exam before the testing window opens, however, you will be charged a fee if you need to change your exam registration. Both transferring to a different date and canceling include a fee.

For Carriers HR and Training Departments:

You can set up a Corporate Account which would allow you to order materials, register for exams, and submit payment on behalf of your employees.

There are three main benefits to setting up this option: one point of contact, centralized billing, and employee tracking. You'll be able to bulk order for one or more students (further details are available by contacting Customer Success). If you are interested in pursuing this option, you can fill out the online form and a representative from The Institutes will reach out to you directly to discuss.
