How long have you been in the industry?  I have been in the industry about 3.5 years. I started right out of college in May 2015

What is your current position and employer?  Business Analyst - Consulting at Cognizant

How long did it take you to obtain your CPCU?  18 months from start to finish. The last 5 tests in 5 months though.

What do you like most about your job?  I just started, so you'll have to find me at a meeting down the road and ask me again!

Why or how did you start in the insurance industry?  Like many in the industry, I did not intend to go into insurance. I received a job offer at All Risks prior to graduating college and decided to accept it. I accepted it more so for the role (Business Analyst) than the industry. I am very glad I accepted that offer.

Do you have any advice for anyone thinking of getting the designation?  First, if you are fresh out of college or earning other designations, keep the train rolling and keep taking tests. It is much easier to continue your studying habits than dust them off and restart. Second, go ahead and register for a test. Having a date set in stone will help push you to study and properly prepare.

What book did you read last?  The Power of Habit

What is your favorite restaurant?  Lalo's Cochina on Broad! Don't Look Back - Triple is a close second.

What college/university did you attend?  Virginia Commonwealth University

Tell us something about yourself outside of your insurance career.  This past summer I rode my bicycle from Virginia Beach, VA to San Francisco, CA. It was a solo, unassisted tour that took 50 days and 3,569 miles to complete. I also used this tour to raise money for the CKG Foundation (https://runsignup.com/LB).
