Scholarship Information

The Richmond CPCU chapter awards annual scholarships to college-bound high school seniors, undergraduate college students, as well as professionals in the insurance industry.

High School Scholarship: Scholarships are awarded to selected college-bound high school seniors based on an expected interest in pursuing a business degree. Consideration will be given based on academic and extracurricular achievements and application responses. Eligible students must be graduating high school seniors who reside in the Greater Richmond Region and intend to continue their education at a Virginia two or four-year college or university with the intent to enroll in a business degree program. This scholarship is not renewable. Previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply. For additional criteria and to apply please click here.

Bruce Kay Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies: Scholarships are awarded to selected undergraduate college students based on an expected interest in pursuing a career in the insurance and risk management industry. Consideration will be given based on academic and extracurricular achievements and application responses. Eligible students must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited Virginia two or four-year college or university with an intent to enroll or currently enrolled in a business degree program with an interest in pursuing a career in the insurance and risk management industry. Mary Beth Scherer Scholarship for Professional Development: Scholarships are awarded to selected professionals in the insurance and risk management industry. Consideration will be given based on lack of company financial support for continuing education through the Institutes, individual’s dedication to the industry, and application responses. Eligible professionals must be active in the insurance and risk management industry with an intent to complete the CPCU designation and located in Virginia. Each scholarship awarded will paid in the form of a voucher. The voucher is to be used towards a Richmond CPCU Chapter class (if available), Institutes’ course materials, and exam.
