Virginia State Claims Association (VSCA)
VSCA is the official claims membership organization for the state of Virginia. Its mission is to promote insurance industry professionalism in assisting members with education and the exchange of ideas and information on subjects of common interest while adjusting claims openly and honestly in all fairness to all regulators, policyholders, claimants and insurance companies and associate vendors.
RIMS Virginia Chapter
Founded in 1950, RIMS, The Risk Management Society, brings networking, professional development, and education opportunities to its membership of more than 11,000 risk management professionals who are located in more than 60 countries. The Virginia Chapter serves professionals who work in and support risk management throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. They enhance members' ongoing professional development by providing education, information and resources at our monthly meetings and annual fall conference.
Independent Insurance Agents (IIAV) of Virginia
IIAV has enjoyed a reputation as Virginia's largest and most active insurance trade organization. Members are the benefactors of legislative and technical information, the best group insurance products in the industry, sales training programs, employee evaluation services, exposure to the latest news and information, and the largest and most professional continuing education programs designed with the agent's career needs in mind.
VCU’s RMI Program
The VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Program is home to a nationally recognized program that prepares students for high-demand careers in risk management, financial services and other areas of the insurance industry.
Gamma Iota Sigma
Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) is the international business fraternity for students pursuing careers in insurance, risk management and actuarial science. Student leaders and faculty advisors work to provide career-focused events and trainings, exposing students to industry leaders. Active GIS students who are successful academically often graduate with multiple job offers in the industry.
National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI)
Founded in 1923, the mission of the NCCI is to foster a healthy workers compensation system. In support of this mission, NCCI gathers data, analyzes industry trends, and provides objective insurance rate and loss cost recommendations. These activities—combined with a comprehensive set of tools and services—make NCCI the source you trust for workers compensation information.
CEU, Insurance Continuing Education
When you sign up for CEU’s Unlimited Access Program you’ll gain 12-month access to over 150 courses approved for property and casualty and life and health licenses for both producers and adjusters.
Insurance Services Office
ISO was formed in 1971 as an advisory and rating organization for the property/casualty insurance industry to provide statistical and actuarial services, develop insurance programs, and assist insurance companies in meeting state regulatory requirements. ISO is a subsidiary of Verisk, a leading source of information about insurance risk.
A.M. Best
Founded in 1899, AM Best is the world’s first credit rating agency. Their mission is to provide accurate, timely and comprehensive information on the creditworthiness of insurance companies and the performance of related parties in the insurance industry.
